Order settings¶
Open the store, click Configuration, then Orders. The side panel shows Import, Store Values to Map, Order Defaults, Currency & Taxes, Lines & Discounts, Deliveries, Shipments and Advanced, plus the tables of the section.
Import¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Import Orders | Brings the Shopify orders into Odoo. On: the order settings must be complete before any operation runs (setup checklist). |
| Import Orders From | Orders placed before this moment are never imported, e.g. the day the store goes live in Odoo. |
| Financial Statuses to Import | New orders are imported only with one of these payment statuses. |
| Fulfillment Statuses to Import | New orders are imported only with one of these shipping statuses. |
| Hold Risky Orders | Orders Shopify marks as high risk stay quotations: nothing is confirmed, invoiced or paid until you check them. |
| Order Number | Store Order Number: the Odoo order is named after the Shopify number, with the Order Prefix (e.g. SHOP- gives SHOP-1001). Odoo Sequence: the usual Odoo number. The Shopify number is always kept on the order. |
When you switch Import Orders on, Odoo proposes every fulfillment status and the payment statuses of orders to ship (Authorized, Paid, Partially Paid, Pending), and reads the values of your recent orders to map.
Statuses only filter new orders
An order already in Odoo always gets its updates, whatever its new status.
Warnings under the settings
- A status that is not imported but whose new orders would be lost (e.g. orders already fulfilled) is named in a yellow box.
- Two stores of the same company with Store Order Number and the same prefix can give two orders the same
name (e.g. two
#1001): give each store its own prefix.
Shopify¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Skip Test Orders | Orders placed with a test payment gateway are not imported. |
| Import Point of Sale Orders | Also imports the orders of Shopify Point of Sale (already handed over to the customer), with the Point of Sale Customer when they have none. |
| Order Sizes | Measured at each Import Orders: the share of orders with more than 20 and 100 lines. Odoo reads orders that arrive by webhook in the way that suits most orders of the store. Information only. |
Order Defaults¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Order Salesperson, Sales Team | Of the imported orders. |
| Default Customer | Customer of the orders without customer and email (guest or point of sale orders). |
| Responsible | Gets an activity when an imported order needs attention. Empty: the salesperson of the order. |
Currency & Taxes¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Order Currency | Store Currency: orders, invoices and payments in the store currency, whatever the customer paid in. Customer Currency: in the currency the customer paid in. Prices always come from Shopify, never from a pricelist. |
| Auto Create Pricelists | Creates a pricelist for a currency the first time an order comes in it. Off: add it in Currency Pricelists; until then those orders wait. |
| Tax Source | Store Taxes: the taxes Shopify charged, mapped to Odoo taxes (Store Taxes). Odoo Taxes: the product taxes and the customer's fiscal position. No Taxes: lines without tax. |
| Auto Create Taxes | Creates the Odoo tax when a Shopify tax has no matching Odoo tax (same rate, same included / excluded). Off: map it in Store Taxes; until then those orders wait. |
| Template Tax | New taxes are copies of this tax (accounts and tax grids), with the Shopify rate. |
Which tax source?
Store Taxes gives Odoo exactly what the customer paid: use it when Shopify computes your taxes. Use Odoo Taxes only when your Odoo fiscal positions are the reference and Shopify's taxes are the same.
Lines & Discounts¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Discount Method | Discount % on the Line: each line shows its discount as a percentage; when the percentage cannot give the exact Shopify amount, a small Discount Rounding line holds the cents. Separate Discount Lines: one discount line per discount code and tax. |
| Allowed Difference | Largest gap accepted between the Odoo total and the Shopify total (e.g. tax rounding). Within it, an Adjustment line makes them equal; above it, the order stays a quotation and needs attention. |
Deliveries¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Validate Deliveries Fulfilled on Store | When Shopify says an order is shipped (from any location), its Odoo delivery is validated. Lots / serial numbers: when Odoo reserved them. |
| Allow Negative Stock | Validates those deliveries even without enough stock in Odoo. Off: they wait and the order needs attention. |
| Validate Earlier Steps | Deliveries in several steps (pick, pack): the earlier steps of the shipped units are validated too. Off: the delivery waits and the order needs attention. |
| Store Locations | Warehouse that delivers the order lines of each Shopify location. See Stock › Store locations. |
| Reverse Posted Invoices on Store Cancel | When Shopify cancels an order whose invoice is posted but not paid, a credit note cancels the invoice. Off: the order needs attention. |
Shipments¶
Send Shipments to Store and Notify Customer of Shipments: see Shipments.
Advanced¶
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Gift Cards | If the store takes gift card or store credit payments, click Set Up Gift Cards, otherwise those orders fail. See Gift cards. |
| Fixed Products | Products of the lines that are not Shopify products: Discount Product, Tip Product, Gift Card Product, Custom Item Product (and Shipped), Duties & Fees Product, Adjustment Product. Created by the module; change them only if needed. |
