Connect your store

With the app created on Shopify, enter its keys in Odoo and approve it on your store.

Connect to Shopify

  1. Open the store you started in Shopify › Configuration › Stores.

  2. Under Shopify Credentials, fill in:

    Field Value
    Shop URL Your store's Shopify address, e.g. your-store.myshopify.com (not your own domain)
    API Key The app's Client ID
    Secret Key The app's Client secret

  3. Click Connect to Shopify. Shopify opens and asks you to approve the app's permissions.

  4. Approve. Shopify sends you back to the store in Odoo, now Connected.

When the store connects, Odoo saves the access token and takes the Store Currency from Shopify.

Check the permissions

Click Check Permissions on a connected store; Odoo also checks every day by itself. If the app lacks a scope, a red box lists what is missing and what will not work. To fix it:

  1. In the Dev Dashboard, open the app's Versions, click Create a version, add the scopes and Release it.
  2. Approve the update in your store, or click Reconnect in Odoo.
  3. Click Check Permissions again.

Connect with an access token

Use it when you already have an access token for the store, for example the same app connected in another database. You need the Administrator access.

  1. Fill in Shop URL, API Key and Secret Key as above. Odoo checks Shopify's events with the secret key.
  2. Click Connect with Access Token, paste the token and confirm.

Odoo checks the token with one read-only call: it must belong to this shop and give at least the required scopes (read_products, write_products, read_orders). If other scopes are missing, the store connects with a warning listing what will not work.

Later: keep the connection healthy

Situation What to do
You want to check the connection Test Connection reads the shop name, currency and time zone from Shopify.
The red box says Connection to the store lost The app was uninstalled or the token refused. Nothing is synchronized until you click Reconnect (you may enter new keys).
The Secret Key was wrong or was changed on Shopify Correct Secret, next to the access token, changes it without disconnecting.
You want to disconnect the store Reset to Draft asks for a reason and removes the webhooks from Shopify. Nothing is deleted in Odoo.
