Schedulers¶
A scheduler runs one operation of the store in the background, at the interval you choose. Open the store, click Configuration, then Schedulers.
Nothing runs until you switch it on
Odoo adds some schedulers for you (Export Shipments when you send shipments, Prepare Stock Export and Export Stock when you export stock), but always switched off. You decide what runs, and when.
Add a scheduler¶
- In Schedulers, click Add a line.
- Choose the Operation Type. What It Does explains it.
- Set Run Every and Interval Type (Minutes, Hours, Days).
- Switch on Enabled.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Off: the operation is paused; switch it on again to resume. |
| Run Every, Interval Type | How often it runs. |
| Last Sync Date | End of the last successful run. Imports read the Shopify changes made since then. |
| Next Run | When it runs next. |
Delete a row to stop it for good. A row in yellow lost its scheduled action: click Re-create Cron.
Operations you can schedule¶
| Operation | Suggested interval | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Import Orders | 1 day with webhooks, 15 minutes without | Each run reads the orders changed since the last one. |
| Import Products | 6 hours | |
| Import Customers | 1 day | |
| Export Shipments | 20 minutes (preset) | Sends the deliveries validated in Odoo. |
| Prepare Stock Export | preset | Lists the stock changes to send. |
| Export Stock | preset | Sends them. |
| Update Products on Store | 1 hour or more | Cannot run more often than once an hour. |
Background work that always runs
Some scheduled actions belong to the module, not to a store, and are always on: they process the queued sync jobs, received events and images, run the order workflows, clean up old records and check webhooks and app permissions every day. They only process work that an operation, a scheduler or a webhook created: they never read from or send to Shopify on their own.
Archived stores
Archiving a store pauses its schedulers; unarchiving switches on again those that were on, and imports catch up from where they stopped. See Administration.
