Store values to map

An order uses values that only Shopify knows: a shipping method, a payment gateway, taxes, a combination of statuses. Each one must point to an Odoo record before the order can be created.

Nothing is guessed

The first time an order uses a value, Odoo adds a row To Map and the order waits. As soon as you map the row, the waiting orders continue by themselves: they are not imported again.

When values are waiting, the store shows a yellow box store value(s) to map with a Review button.

Read the values before the first import

In Configuration › Orders › Store Values to Map, click Read Values from Recent Orders. Odoo reads the shipping methods, payment gateways and statuses of your last Shopify orders and adds their rows, so you can map them before the first order arrives. It also runs when you switch Import Orders on.

Shipping Methods

Shopify › Configuration › Shipping Methods: one row per shipping method customers choose.

Column What to set
Odoo Carrier The carrier of the Odoo orders that use this method. Several methods may use the same carrier. Create Carrier makes one for the method.
Shopify Carrier The shipping company Shopify knows (e.g. DHL Express); see Shipments.

Payment Gateways

Shopify › Configuration › Payment Gateways: one row per gateway (Shopify Payments, PayPal, manual, gift card…). No Payment stands for orders without payment.

Column What to set
Payment Journal Journal that receives the payments of this gateway. Create Journal makes one.
Payment Method, Refund Method Incoming and outgoing methods of the journal. Empty: the first one.
Payment Type Money, Gift Card or Store Credit (payments that use up a liability, no money received).

One journal per gateway

Use one journal per gateway, not your bank journal: Shopify and PayPal pay their payouts to your bank later, and the gateway journal is where you reconcile them.

Store Taxes

Shopify › Configuration › Store Taxes (with Tax Source Store Taxes): one row per tax Shopify charges, by title, rate, included / excluded and country. Odoo finds the Odoo tax with the same rate and the same included in price setting, or creates it with Auto Create Taxes. Rate Differs warns when the Odoo tax chosen has another rate: the totals will not match.

Currency Pricelists

With Order Currency Customer Currency, an order in another currency needs a pricelist in that currency (Odoo takes the order currency from its pricelist; prices still come from Shopify). The table Currency Pricelists of the Orders section holds one per currency, created automatically with Auto Create Pricelists.

Workflow Mapping

Shopify › Configuration › Workflow Mapping: one row per combination of Financial Status, Fulfillment Status and Payment Gateway of your orders. Its Workflow says what Odoo does with those orders. Empty: the row is To Map and its orders wait.

Example:

Financial Status Fulfillment Status Payment Gateway Workflow
Paid Unfulfilled Shopify Payments Auto Confirm, Invoice & Pay
Pending Unfulfilled Cash on Delivery Auto Confirm Only
Paid Fulfilled PayPal Auto Confirm, Invoice & Pay

Workflows

Shopify › Configuration › Order Automations holds the workflows. Three are installed: Auto Confirm Only, Auto Confirm & Invoice and Auto Confirm, Invoice & Pay. Copy and change them as you need.
