General settings

The General section of the configuration holds what every flow of the store depends on: its company, currency, warehouse and language, and how long Odoo keeps the history of the synchronization.

Open the store, click Configuration, then General in the side panel.

Store

Setting What it does
Company Company of the products, orders, invoices and payments of this store. It is the company you were in when you created the store: for another company, switch to it and create the store there.
Store Currency Currency of the store's prices and orders. For Shopify it is read from the store when it connects and cannot be changed in Odoo.
Warehouse Main warehouse of the store: the deliveries of its orders and, without store locations, its stock.
Language Language of the texts read from the store (product names, descriptions) and of the customers created from it.

Several stores, one Odoo

Each store has its own company, currency, warehouse and settings. Stores can share the same Odoo products, contacts, carriers, taxes and journals: the store layer links each store to them, so nothing is duplicated.

Store currency and prices

When the store currency is not the company currency, store prices must be kept on a pricelist in the store currency (Store Prices: Instance Pricelist, see Product settings). The setup checklist asks for it.

Clean-up

Every import and export leaves sync jobs and logs. Odoo deletes the old ones by itself, every day.

Setting What it does
Keep Finished Records (days) Completed sync jobs, information logs, resolved logs and processed store events are deleted after this many days. 0 keeps them forever.
Keep Failures (days) Sync jobs with failed lines and unresolved errors are deleted after this many days. Managers are reminded to review errors older than a week. 0 keeps them forever.

Keep the defaults

New stores keep finished records 30 days and failures 90 days. Large stores create many records: keeping them forever makes the lists slow to open.
