Access rights

In Settings › Users & Companies › Users, the Shopify access of each user:

User Works with the Shopify stores: dashboard, orders, products, customers, sync jobs and logs.
Administrator Also connects stores, changes their configuration, and sees the secret key, the access token and the data of received events.

Users see only the stores of the connectors they have access to.

Several stores and companies

  • Add one store per Shopify store in Shopify › Configuration › Stores. Each has its own company, warehouse, settings, schedulers and webhooks.
  • To connect a store to another company, switch to that company first, then create the store.
  • Stores share Odoo products, contacts, carriers, taxes and journals without duplicates. Use Company-Specific Products / Customers when each company must keep its own.

Disconnect a store

Reset to Draft asks for a reason, removes the webhooks from Shopify (when still connected) and disconnects the store. Nothing is deleted in Odoo: products, customers, orders, mappings and settings stay. Connect it again with Connect to Shopify.

Archive a store

To stop a store without losing anything (e.g. a closed store), click Actions ⚙ › Archive on the store.

On archive
Schedulers Paused (those that were on are remembered).
Waiting job lines Cancelled.
Webhooks Removed from Shopify.
Products, customers, mappings, settings, orders Kept as they are.

Unarchive switches the paused schedulers on again; imports catch up from where they stopped. Then click Register Webhooks yourself: events of the archived period are not sent again, the catch-up import covers them.

Archived Odoo products

Archiving the store does not change anything on Shopify: products stay on sale there.

Copies of the database

A copy of production (test, staging, a restored backup) is connected to the same Shopify store. To keep it from touching your live store:

  1. In the copy, on each store, click Disable Here in the red webhook box (see Webhooks).
  2. Switch off the store's schedulers in the copy.
  3. Or disconnect the copy's stores with Reset to Draft.

Two connected databases import the same orders

If two databases stay connected to the same store with their schedulers on, both import the same orders and both send shipments and stock.

Moving to a new server

After restoring the database on the new server with a new address:

  1. Check Odoo's address (web.base.url) and each store's Webhook Address.
  2. Add the new redirect URL to the Shopify app (new version, Release) if the address changed.
  3. On each store, click Take Over in the webhook box, or Register Webhooks.
